Drop-In Boomerang

Like many products in the City Theatrical product catalog, the Drop-In Boomerang (P/N 1410 or 1411) is among those that is inspired by the unique needs of lighting designers and technicians working in theater.
Inspired by Allen Lee Hughes and Master Electrician Chris Lewton while working on a musical at Arena Stage in Washington D.C., the Drop-In Boomerang provides an efficient way to change gel color in a tight spot, such as in follow spots positioned on catwalks over an audience.
Allen Lee Hughes recalls in his interview with City Theatrical: "Chris Lewton came up with this solution and created a prototype, which City Theatrical then built. Since then it has been used for many shows, and we use them at NYU Tisch for our second year Cabaret."
