QolorFLEX® 5x2.5A Multiverse® Dimmer
City Theatrical's QolorFLEX® 5x2.5A Multiverse® Dimmer (P/N 5943) is a constant voltage, five-output dimmer that can be controlled wirelessly using City Theatrical’s Multiverse wireless DMX/RDM* or SHoW DMX Neo wireless DMX/RDM technology, or with wired DMX. This dimmer provides 20-bit PWM resolution and six DMX personality options (including: 8-bit (5ch), 16-bit (10ch), 8-bit Tunable White Single (2ch), 16-bit Tunable White Single (4ch), 8-bit Tunable White (4ch), and 16-bit Tunable White (8ch)) for extremely smooth dimming at the low end of the dimming curve. It uses detachable input and output connectors to make wiring easy.
Configuration is performed using RDM, such as with a City Theatrical DMXcat®, or with City Theatrical’s USB Configuration program for PC/Mac. A mounting bracket is included with the Dimmer to allow easy mounting to scenery. This dimmer is designed and built in the USA by City Theatrical. It pairs perfectly with QolorFLEX 5-in-1 LED Tape for ideal use in props and costumes, or for areas where space is a concern.
The 5943 Dimmer draws 0.45W in wireless mode and 0.35W in wired mode.
*Multiverse Transceivers are covered by U.S. Patent # 7,432,803 and other patents pending
The USB Configurator program for QolorFLEX 5x2.5A Multiverse Dimmers is available as a free download, in the downloads tab below.

Multiverse® Studio Kit and QolorFLEX® 5x2.5A Multiverse Dimmers for The Sex Lives of College Girls, Season I, on HBO Max |
"Multiverse Studio Receivers are reliable and always hold the connection. That's why I keep Multiverse and continue to use it. I love it." - Carlos M. Torres, Chief Lighting Technician, The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 1 Chief Lighting Technician Carlos M. Torres and his team for HBO Max's The Sex Lives of College Girls were looking for a robust and reliable wireless DMX solution for shooting Season I of the show at Warner Brothers Studio, Burbank, California. They found that the Multiverse Studio Kit provided the broadcast planning tools, dual band technology, long battery life, and contactless charging they were looking for. |

QolorFLEX LED Tape and Multiverse Wireless DMX Dimming Control at Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden, Utah | The team used 23 QolorFLEX 5x2.5A Multiverse 900MHz/2.4GHz Dimmers and one Multiverse Transmitter 900MHz/2.4GHz to provide wireless DMX dimming control for 8 reels of QolorFLEX 5-in-1 LED Tape in RGB + Amber + Warm White, which were installed over custom harnesses, to realize their vision of wirelessly controlled LED accent lighting throughout the theater.
QolorFLEX and Multiverse at The Joyce Theater in NYC | The Joyce Theater’s leadership was looking to update their theater’s lighting using LED tape to gain brightness, efficiencies, and a clean, modern look for their upcoming Fall 2021 season, which included an exciting lineup of dance performances following the closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic (and it was an ideal time since they also chose to replace all of their seats; a fresh look for the whole theater). They were looking for an LED tape solution to replace the fluorescent tubes that existed in the lobby coves, incandescent rope light in the coves under the loge seating areas, and many incandescent tube bulbs (40w) that were originally installed to light the fascia/facing within the theater. The ideal solution would even out the amount of light and color temperature in the theater, while also reducing the power consumption.
QolorFLEX Multiverse Wireless DMX Dimming at Stranger Things |
“I like how easy it is to start using Multiverse wireless DMX and I always remember how to use it every time I work with Joy. It’s definitely a trusted system. Show ID and Show KEY are the best things since sliced bread.” - Anna McKindley, Fixtures Technician, Stranger Things, Season 4 Stranger Things is a TV Horror show with four seasons since it was first released on Netflix in 2016. The show is set in a small town that uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments and supernatural forces. Dual band Multiverse® Transmitter (P/N 5910) and Multiverse Node (P/N 5902) and 13 miniature QolorFLEX® 2x2.5A 900MHz Multiverse Dimmers (P/N 5917) were used during filming the most recent season four for their smooth wireless DMX dimming control and reliability on the 900MHz band. The dimmers were installed on bicycles and within flashlight props to drive 30W LEDs, which put out enough heat to melt plastic. City Theatrical talked to Fixtures Technician Anna McKindley about Multiverse at the show. |
